FAREWELL ASSEMBLY

Today we had

a special performance from the Chinese students. Amazing!
We then presented them with a wooden buzzy bee and Oropi school badge. Have a safe trip back and look forward to seeing you again soon.

PANCAKE MAKING

Today the children got to make pancakes which is a treat for breakfast for the Kiwi child.  They measured out and mixed the batter to make the pancakes. They even ate some of the mixture before cooking it!
They enjoyed cooking them and then adding their own flavours before eating them all up.  Yum Yum.
Afterwards they completed some worksheets on pancakes and wrote a diary on their experience.
Well done.

ORIENTATION TOUR FOR OUR NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Today we took a bus tour with some other Tauranga schools to show our new International families Tauranga and the surrounding area. We walked to Kaite Falls, did the lookout at Summer Hill and had fish and chips at Maketu. We finished the day with a swim at the Mount Hot pools. What an amazing day we had!

FIRST DAY AT OROPI SCHOOL

Today our Chinese students had their first day at Oropi school.  We gave them each a buddy so they could show them around the school and make them feel comfortable and welcome.  They played on the playground and helped them with some English worksheets about themselves.  They even met our school cat "Colin".

WELCOME CHINESE STUDENTS

We welcomed a group of 10 students from China on Saturday 3td Feb. They have had a great day exploring Tauranga with their homestay families as well as getting to know their buddies.
