LETTERS FROM KOREA STUDENTS AND THEIR MOTHERS

Today we received lovely letters of support from our current International students Ella, Min Jae and their mothers.  We are so grateful to have feedback on how our International students and parents feel about coming to Oropi.  We will miss them when they go back to Korea.  We appreciate your kindness.  Thank you.


 OROPI SCHOOL IS GOOD AND WHY?

1. Students are friendly
2. Teachers are kind, friendly and funny
3. The cat is cute and he has a beautiful name Colin
4. Morning tea for snacks, so you don't get hungry
5. ESOL teacher is very kind
6. ESOL teacher is very funny
7. New Zealand schools have lots of PE sports.
8. The school has a gully with lots of trees that you can climb
9. There is 2 playgrounds
10. Classrooms are named after NZ birds, and we learn about them.
11. We can hear birds singing from classroom
12. We can see lots of natue

THE GOOD THINGS THAT MUM'S THINK

1.  They don't have many Korean International students so you can get to experience Oropi school
2.  Teachers have a lot of love for their students
3. The school is not very big so you can feel like family
4.  Oropi school has events that other schools don't have, so the students can have lots of experiences.


ABOUT OROPI SCHOOL

1. Oropi school students and teachers are very kind
2. There is a lot of trees in NZ to climb on
3. There is two big playground to play on
4. There is a school cat called Colin
5. There is time for morning tea
6. If we do ESOL, we travel and draw
7. This school does a lot of sports.

Farewell Chinese students

Today we cooked pancakes with the students. They loved them and it was a great experience for them.
We then introduced them to a few 'kiwi games like 'fruit salad and 'line tag'.
After lunch we had our farewell assemble were the kapa  huka performed two songs for the group. We presented the group with little wooden buzzy bees each. Very cute. We hope you have a safe trip back home.

Welcome Chinese students

Today we welcomed our Chinese groups to our school.
They enjoyed an orientation of the school with their buddies. Then they created their very own kiwi hand puppets. This was a very fun activity that their buddies helped them with.

Cherry blossom art

Today we did an art activity with Mohan and his class. We made cherry blossom trees. We traced around our hands and then put crepe paper as our blossoms. They look amazing!!

Oropi school game

Today Ella played her board game that she made with a few friends from her class. Ella creates the board game about Oropi school during the last few weeks. The children enjoyed playing it. Amazing work Ella.

Korean cooking and farewell

Today we made "Mandu" Korean dumplings. We made kimchi dumplings which was very yummy! The children all helped make it.

Then we farewelled Susan and Jason. They have been here for two weeks and are returning back to China.  We enjoyed having you both here. Safe travels.

Beach Day

Today we walked around the Mount with our International students. They got to see 3 seals along the way which was a great experience for them.
We enjoyed fish and chips for lunch by





the beach.
Great day.  They also wrote their names in the sand.
